                Thirumalayampalayam Town Panchayat has a Medium historical and cultural heritage.  The history bears testimony to the rule of a fist of dynastic.  The Murugan Temple in Appachigoundenpathi has a famous Temple and Nehru College of Arts & Science situated is situated in the end of the state boundary and is very nearby Kerala State. The Population of this town was 12164 in 2011. There are various number of substantial riots living in this town. The total revenue of the town depends Agricultural.

 

Regional Setting : Thirumalayampalayam Town is situated 13 km from Coimbatore South Taluk Head Quarter and located on south side.

 

            Topography:  The general topography of the town indicates a gentle fall from south to north and west  to east.  It is seen from the contour map of  this  area. 

 

                Climate and Rainfall:-  Climate of the town on the whole is temperate and from March to June is generally hot.  The Town receives maximum rain fall from South-East monsoon and the annual rain fall is 1000mm. April to June are the hottest months, December to January. Temperature start rising towards the end of February.

               

Geology and Soil Condition.  The general  lithology of the Thirumalayampalayam area is as follows. It is noted that, top soil is found in the first 5 meters hard rock and above 5 meters hard rock,  and got ground water level is 150-200 meters.  The ground water is potable in this Town.

The town is situated at a distance of about 15 Km from the district headquarters and Coimbatore City Corporation. Thirumalayampalayam Town Panchayat  is well connected to Coimbatore – Palakkad by way  National high way.

            Present population of the town is 12,164 The source of Drinking water is Pillur Dam Water from Athikadavu. Water is pumping and supplying through 9 OHT’s constructed in 9 places. There are 45 nos  India Mark II Handpump,  9 mini power pump.  Now,  70 Ltrs per Capita. Water is supplied by Thirumalayampalayam Town Panchayat.  Now, in this Town Panchayat  drinking water supply Public  Tap Connections and Private connections are available.
