PROFILE

a ) Town History

           Karumandichellipalayam  is one of the important Town Panchayat in Erode district and is very famous for the presets of a number of temples. Karumandichellipalayam Town Panchayat is located in Perundurai – Erode State highways road. Many of the people are weavers and farmers. Some Textile mills and other units  running  from SIPCOT near this Town panchayat.

 b) Town administration

          Civil administration was looked after by a town level committee which was found in First Grade Town Panchayat on 1963 and upgrade to Selection Grade Town Panchayat in order of Director of Town Panchayat on 1984 . At present the area of the Town Panchayat is 25.06 Sq km. The town is divided into 18 election wards .

c) Location

 Karumandichellipalayam is a Town Panchayat coming under the administrative territory of Erode District. The Town Panchayat merging 21 villages  namely Theethampalayam, Ellapalayam, Ellapalayam Harijana colony, Ellapalayam Pudur, Seelampatti, Seelampatti Harijana colony, Thottiyaseelampatti, Samathanapuram, Mondipuliyankadu, Karumandichellipalayam, Karumandichellipalayam Harijana colony, Velliyampalayam, Kandampalayam, Kandamalayam pudur, Karukkampalayam, Chettithoppu, Sellanna Gounden pudur, Thiruvengidampalayam pudur, Sileterpuram, Balan Nagar, Anna Nagar.  This Panchayat is Selection  Grade Town Panchayat. The Town Panchayat is located at a distance of 18 km from Erode Municipality.  On the north side Kanjikovil Town Panchayat and Thiruvachi  village Panchayat, South side Perundurai Town panchayat, West side Thudupathi  village Panchayat, East side Pichandampalayam  village panchayat.

           Major district road and N.H.47 road connect Karumandichellipalayam Town Panchayat with surrounding region and other urban centre in the district and state. Salem to Cochin road passing through this town. The major district roads connecting other important urban centres are use follows.
