The Sangaramanallur Town Panchayat is constituted as village Panchayat during the year 1962 and later it was upgrade as second grade town panchayat during the year 1968 total extent of town panchayat is 32 Sq.Km. The present population of the town panchayat 10794. the town have six hamlets and re enue reenue illages as detailed below

The main accupation of the village is agriculture and some rural Industries There are Three textiles and One Paper mill and One Suguna frozen whole dressed Chicken and chicken parts unit is running in this Town Panchayat area. The town Panchayat is situated near famous Palani Temple. The Amaravathi River and Kuthirai river is running thorough this Town panchayat area. There are many historical manimums of King Kumanan and charen. the Statue of Lord Natraja is very bigger then other statue is in Tamilnadu. The Kotai Mariyamman temple is also situated near the town Pachayat at Kolumam Village Panchayat
