            Vettaikaranpudur town Panchayat  constituted as Village panchayat in the year of 1885 and upgraded as  Selection Grade Town Panchayat in 1976.  It consists 18  wards with 17392 as per 2011 census  Population.  The area of Town Panchayat is 51 Sq.km. 

Prelude of the Town :

        Vettaikaranpudur town panchayat is located on foot of the Westernhills Ghats.  The famour “Azhukkuswamy Kovil” is situated in this town panchayat and Theivakulam Kaliamman kovil is nearly from this Town Panchayat

  Vettaikaranpudur is on  the  State  High  ways  connecting  Pollachi – topslip Road.  The Anaimalai Tiger Reserve, Topslip is  one of  the  very  famous  Wild  Life  Sanctuary  in  Tamilnadu  is  located 14 km distance from  this  Town  Panchayat  Area. Vettaikaranpudur Town Panchayat is  comprised  of  7villages.  VettaikaranpudurTown Panchayat  has  17392 peoples  (asper  2011census).  Their  surrounding  villages  has more than 1,00,000 people.
