Location
Thengamputhoor is a first grade Town Panchayat which is 9 Kilometers from Nagerkoil which is in
Agastheeswaram Taluk of Kanyakumari District Administration. Through this Town Panchayat Mankudy - Nagecoil State Highways Road runs,
which is linked by NH – 7 and NH – 47.
The area of the town Panchayat is 4.15 Sq.km. Thengamputhoor Panchayat is bounded by Puthalam Town Panchayat on the south – east & south - west, Parakkai village panchayat on the north -
east, Athikattuvilai & Dharmapuram
village panchayats on the west.
Physical Characteristics
Major part of the
town is plane area. Hard red gravelly
soil is found almost on all areas. This
town has perennial water sources from Parakkai Pond and there by agricultural
activities are depending on this channel and also rainfall. Trees like coconut, plantain, and food grains like rice are the
major crops of this town. The climate is
almost dry and there is significant rainfall during the southwest monsoon.

the town is 4.15 Sq.km in the last three decades with a population of 12675
(2001). Population density in this
