INTRODUCTION.
1.1 TOWN HISTORY
Sarkar Samakulam Town Panchayat has a Medium historical and cultural heritage. The history bears testimony to the rule of a fist of dynastic. The population of the town was 10289 in 2011. There are number of substantial riots living in this town. The total revenue of the Town depends an agriculture and Industries.
1.2 TOWN ADMINISTRATION
Sarkar Samakulam Town Panchayat was constituted on 1961 as Town Panchayat and further it was upgraded to Second Grade from 1971 and upgraded as First grade Town Panchayat on 1976 functioning as such till date. The extent of the Town Panchayat is 27.19 Sq Km. The population of the Town Panchayat is 10289 as per 2011 census, consisting 5122 men and 5167 women.
The Town was delineated to 15 Administration wards. The Local Body Elections were held on 19.10.2011 for the posts of 15 Ward Councillors.
1.1.2 POLITICAL WING
The Panchayat council the Political arm of the Town consists of 15 elected councilors each representing a ward. The Chairman heads Town Panchayat council which performs its duties as per the provisions of the District Municipalities Act 1920. The Political wing provides direction to the Town Panchayat and performs its functions through a set of committees constituted for different purposes.
1.1.3 EXECUTIVE WING
The Executive wing is responsible for day to day operations of the Town Panchayat and is headed by the Executive Officer. The Executive Officer is the Administrative head of the Town Panchayat and is supported by different departments in the operations. The Organizational structure comprises of Four functional departments.
1.1.4 FUNCTIONAL DEPARTMENTSSarkar Samakulam Town Panchayat consists of Four functional departments. Each department consists of Head who reports to the Executive Officer and functions as per the responsibilities prescribed in the Act and as delegated by the Town Panchayat Executive Officer.
