INTRODUCTION OF THE TOWN PANCHAYAT

          Pattiveeranpatti Town Panchayat is coming under the administrative territory of Nilakottai Taluck, Dindigul District.  This Town Panchayat has constituted in the year of 1969.  In the year 1971 this Town Panchayat Upgraded as Ist Grade, and it is upgraded as Selection Grade Town Panchayat as per the Proceeding Roc.No.16111/85 B5 Date:10.09.1985 of the Director Town Panchayat. This Town Panchayat is coming under municipal Act from the year 1996. In G.O.No.55 Date: 04.06.2004 it has been down Graded as Special Village Panchayat and again in G.O.No.55. Date: 14.07.2006 It has been upgraded as town Panchayat.

Pattiveeranpatti Town Panchayat is coming under the administrative territory of Nilakottai Taluk, Dindigul District. This Town constituted in the year of 1969. In the year 1971 this Town Panchayat Upgraded as Ist Grade, and it is upgraded as Selection Grade Town Panchayat as per the Proceeding Roc.No.16111/85 B5 Date: 10.09.1985 of the Director Town Panchayat. This Town Panchayat is coming under municipal Act from the year 1996. In G.O.No.55 Date: 04.06.2004 it has been down Graded as Special Village Panchayat and again in G.O.No.55. Date: 14.07.2006 it has been upgraded as town Panchayat.

        In this Town Panchayat Municipal act has been implemented and followed.  Total Area of this town 2.59 sqr.km. The roads, drainages and pipe lines are maintained by this town panchayat as follows.

Total length of Roads 15.126 K.m.

Total length of Drainages 21.780 K.m.

Total length of pipe lines pumping main 13.000 K.m.

Total length of Pipe lines distribution main 5.000 K.m.

 The people of this town are celebrating the festival of Muthalamman kovil in September, Mariamman kovil and Pathirakaliamman kovil in May of every year. This town located      450 k.m from Chennai and 30 k.m from Dindigul. The nearest railway station is Dindigul and nearest airport is madurai in 80 k.m distance. This town is very near to Thandikudi Hills i.e. 35 K.m and Kodaikanal is also nearest i.e. 64 k.m.

The population is 7491 as per the 1991 census. It is similarly raised in 2001 census as 7772 and 2011 cences as 8602.

         The agricultural lands in this town panchayat are more fertile and planted coconut trees. The farmers and land owners get more income from this coconut plantation. The income source of this town panchayat is property tax.

        Some of the people of Pattiveeranpatti Town Panchayat are having Coffee Estate in the nearby hill Thandikudi.  The main occupation of the people of this Town Panchayat is Coffee seed picking, separating quality wise and export to other States and foreign Countries.  Hence people have Job opportunities

        The Brokers for the coffee seed purchase have come from various states and demand for good rates for its quality.

 This town has a fairly healthy climate. The maximum temperature normally occurs in the month of May while the minimum temperature in winter occurs in December.        

                This  Town is located in the river bed of Maruthanadhi river which it is coming form Maruthanadhi Dam situated 14 K.m from this town.  The main water source of this Town is Maruthanadhi River.  We have Provided Two Infiltration well in this river and one OHT with the Capacity of 30000 Litres.  The water from the OHT is coming to this Town by gravity and has been filled in 3 OHT located in this Town with the capacity of 2.00 lakhs litres, 1.00 lakhs litre and 0.35 lakh litre.  The additional source of water is being collected form Thamaraikulam Bore well.  So there is no water scarcity in this town.
